The flag has a dark grey/black background (representing anger and mourning towards eugenics and neglect aimed at the disabled) with stripes going from the top left corner to the bottom right, which are colored (from left to right) red for physical disabilities, yellow for neurodiversity, white for invisible and undiagnosed disability, blue for emotional and psychiatric disability including mental illness and anxiety and depression, and green for sensory disability such as deafness and blindness
The flag was created in October 2021 by Ann Magill, and is an updated version of the flag which was also created by Magill but in 2019–the original flag had the stripes zigzag in a way that made them appear similar to a lightning bolt across the black background still moving from the top left corner to the bottom right, but the flag depicted was updated to make the stripes straight
