An inside thought is thoughts you think but don’t say aloud in case that didn’t make sense. A professor I have says that to students in my class sometimes

I say dress for the occasion. If it is professional then do that. But still be you. If it is casual wear whatever feels good to you. Clothes are an expression of you truly... IMO but i get the comments...
