Ppl who have moved away from your hometown- how have y’all coped? I was lucky to go to a very good college < 30 mins from my family. But for a variety of reasons I’m prob heading to a new city for grad school and it’s all starting to feel overwhelming

how far away are you moving? if you're going to be with a few hours of your hometown it should still be pretty easy to pop back home! but if you're moving further away definitely ask and if see if any of them can help you move/would be willing to stay with you for a few days to get adjusted

YMMV heavily seems to depend on how abusive your family was 😅🤭🤭😆

I moved 12 hrs away after having severe separation anxiety for so long and it seems so scary and overwhelming, but as soon as I got there and had to be truly independent, I felt so much better

i liked leaving my hometown, what i hate is the transition from one place to the other, especially the packing. But it is helping me a lot to learn to be independent

I went thru phases of shutdown from how overwhelming it was during the first week or so, but after coming home for the summer I think my mental health was thriving after I left
