Wasn’t 100% sure if caffeine energized me or made me sleepy, but I’m drinking a can of cold brew coffee and I feel like I’m being sedated

Also, for those unaware, I looked up the science behind this effect and discovered that apparently bc adhd brains are so low on norepinephrine and dopamine, two chemicals caffeine boosts along with blocking adenosine receptors, they’re highly sensitive to changes in levels of those chemicals. So, if too much caffeine overwhelms your brain with them, one possible effect is that it’ll boost your energy and alertness very briefly before crashing to well below your energy and alertness before the-

-caffeine intake. There were other possible effects that differed slightly, but this explanation applied to me so I paid most attention to it

This explains why when I drink my usual coffee and I don’t drink too much of it, it actually does boost my energy. But, if I drink something much more highly caffeinated like a full energy drink can, most of a cold brew coffee can, or a double shot espresso late, I crash
