Also is it just me or does it throw anyone else off when applications ask about if you have any physical or mental disabilities, and they say it’s because they’re not allowed to discriminate against workers if they do, but I feel like that’s a lie

I always put “prefers not to tell” in the disability question. Bc I know they’d deny me in a second

The wording is always the stupidest it possibly can be as well. Nobody ever has said “I sometimes for the most part cannot recall having feelings where I disliked myself”. Just make the statement to respond to “I dislike myself”, why so many spare words?

Genuinely wtf why is how I feel about myself necessary to my job performance?? I can guarantee I can be excellent to others and present myself well whether or not I’m disliking myself that day 😭😭

I honestly lie on those. I know my honest answer is probably not what they want to hear, but if I need a job I need a job

That’s what I started doing because I got skeptical about it 😅

They look for certain traits, it’s not exactly like this but its a “what would you do in this situation” and its got one very wrong answer and two very similar ones

Employers can’t see answers to the EEO questions on job applications. It’s a federally mandated part of the app they couldn’t take it off even if they wanted to

They legally aren’t allowed to ask anything in regards to these things because they can infact discriminate against you, by not hiring you because of your disabilities/ mental health issues, then pass it off as just you not qualifying in general

This. Told the fast food recruiter I would need MINOR accommodations (less than what I actually would need but I don’t want to get fired for “inconveniencing” them) and I didn’t get hired. I had open availability, could start immediately, had reliable transportation, and 4 years of retail/customer service exp. All I asked for was to sit for 5 min every few hours.

I’m nervous to do this because I want them to know before I waste my time at an interview where they see I’m disabled and reject me, or go to work for a few days and get fired for not being able to do the job well enough.

Doing this now, using no mobility aids, only braces sometimes. Many know I have pain/joint issues, but not the actual extent of the issues. One or a few people know I have OCD (relevant to doing dishes).

Well. I shouldn’t say no one. A very few limited cases might actually prefer it.

CVS does this for their pharmacy techs too. It’s to see if people are going to be able to work with you and if you will cause issues w customers but it literally doesn’t work at all bc one of my coworkers threatened all of our lives and she passed so this shit does NOTHING

What I do is I do “prefer not to say” then when I got the job I tell them lmao. Idk if that’s bad but whatever
