I’m trying to find the right adhd meds but both types of stimulants give me bad side effects. I’m starting to lose hope. Anyone have advice/perspective?

Every stimulant I’ve tried gives me panic attacks, including caffeine if it’s in a dose as high as a cup of coffee. Non-stimulant medications can be pretty good too. I’m on atomoxetine, which works well for me, and I know someone who has good results with bupropion. Bupropion is mainly used for depression as far as I know, but I think it’s also supposed to help with ADHD symptoms. I also tried guanfacine, but I had anger issues and I felt sleepy all the time, and it didn’t even help with ADHD.

I should be more objective. The efficacy of atomoxetine is comparable to that of IR methylphenidate, and the all-cause discontinuation is similar for both. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4898838/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3229459/
