After graduating college, Ive come to really miss learning. I miss the mental stimulation. I wish I could learn more things on my own but I can’t push myself to have the same expected discipline like there was in a classroom setting

Check out free classes through Harvard or see if you can audit classes at a local college or uni!

genuinely this sucks the most when you realize you aren’t training or challenging your brain as much every day and start to feel yourself slipping

I’ve started listening to podcasts on my runs/walks instead of music for this exact reason

Discipline isn't required for learning. There's no time limit in real life

I’ve found that reading and podcasts help. I couldn’t pick up a book before graduation without having trouble paying attention. I’ve read 20 books this year. I haven’t done this since elementary school. Find something that’ll challenge your brain whether it’s reading, listening to a podcast, learning a new language, doing math or puzzles. Just find something

Have you found a job yet ? I’ve realized that my full time job is teaching me a lot , and each meeting is kinda like a class :)

This is one of the reasons why I decided to get my masters. Also, like others mentioned, taking classes at local community colleges is also great (I took a course in ASL and it was super fun!)

I find I can’t push myself when other people are forcing me to. I have to be randomly fixated on learning which comes in phases

I’ve also seriously considered a masters. Maybe within the next year but I never thought I’d be interested in school again after finishing college

This. It really sucks when you don’t notice either. I had to do something with thought a month or two ago and I was exhausted after

I love reading and even read 75 books in a year once. But my problem is I have 2 reading phases — all I do is read 24/7 and nothing else OR I don’t touch my book for several months, there’s no in between

I’m trying to work on a healthy balance though, BUT I am currently learning a new language on Duolingo!

I always make sure to be off my phone 30 minutes before bed and read for a little bit then. Even if I have to force myself to do it, I do it so I actually get a little in. That, and I’ll bring my book to work and read on breaks instead of scrolling. It helps me not feel so slow and tired when I go back
