I had a sex dream during a sleep study. I wonder if the doctors could tell, since they were tracking my brain waves, heart rate, breathing, etc. Should I be embarrassed lol

I’m sure they’ve measured people having all sorts of dreams, including sex dreams

if I was a scientist and this happened to my patient, i’d probably be super interested in the changes tbh. Like wow, the body working in all these different ways even in the sleep! Very cool

no. i’m pretty sure that’s how my body behaves when I have weird intense dreams. they’re not worried about your dreams lpl

this is true. I still couldn’t look my tech in the eye afterwards tho😭

I mean they asked if I had a nightmare as soon as I woke up (and they didn’t ask that after my other naps) so they definitely noticed something was up😭 but whatever. after giving it more thought I’m not embarrassed, they’re medical professionals and it’s not like I did anything inappropriate on purpose

maybe they were just concerned? idk i’ve never done a sleep study but they’ve probably seen worse

I think it was medically relevant in this scenario for them to know what my dreams are like perhaps? (getting tested for narcolepsy which affects REM)
