I tried taking asl for a year, and as I’m terrible at learning languages in general, it went not the best for me, but I do understand the sentiment behind this. While I’m not sure if I agree with making sign language required, we definitely need more general communication skills to be taught, as having your family upset with you shouldn’t be required either. I just wish there was an easier solution to all of this.
I have a similar issue being nearly unable to learn new languages, plus I have hand issues so there are some signs I physically cannot make.
