Not funny but I would be honest but vague and say medication changes caused some issues but you are okay now. That leaves it up to interpretation if it was mental or physical but let’s them know it wasn’t anything they did.

You screenshot this post and send it to them. Who knows, maybe they’ll joke with you about the replies. I find being 100% honest is always the best approach.

There’s a reason people are usually in the hospital when coming on or off psych meds. This is totally normal. When I had to distance myself from friends I explained: the way my mental health was, I was interpreting words and actions from people in an unusual way, and it was easier for me to distance myself than to be exposing myself to the misunderstandings that my mind was coming up with while trying to make sense of actions and words of those around me. I had to take a step back. I hope you aren’t offended by my distance. It’s nothing you did, but more so the way my mind was Misinterpreting.

there is some risk, but it is not at all typical to be hospitalized when coming off escitalopram if it’s done correctly in increments with the prescribing doctor. not all prescription medications are created equal, and it’s harmful to make people panic with misinformation.

I said “usually” in the hospital when coming on or off psych meds. Which is accurate. I’m not fear mongering. People need to know it’s normal to need support for those situations, if you need help you can self admit.

it’s not true of this specific medication, and i’m not sure it’s really true of “most.” “some” would be more accurate, and people have already been counseled in this if they’re on the medication in the first place.
