if it’ll give you a better insight into yourself, sure. but honestly a diagnosis doesn’t really “get” you anything in the adult world, as accommodations are usually just done for academics. so if you’re past the point of that then there’s not much of a necessity for an evaluation beyond just wanting to know
Oh come on man you’re really discounting how important an answer to “why am I so weird” and “why can’t I do X” and “why can everyone else do X so much better than me” and 10000 of those other awful thoughts people have before they’re finally diagnosed. That diagnosis made me feel reborn. It made everything make sense. I stopped hating myself and for the first time I realized I wasn’t the problem. That feeling alone is enough reason to get a diagnosis and I’m sorry you don’t feel that way.
