SSRIs can make me extremely heat sensitive. I have a labor intensive trade , so I’m often having to explain away while I’m sweating inside a house that is 70 degrees . I love the sun and being outside , I just also know that my body can’t hack it while I’m on SSRIS . And I can’t hack being in my body if I’m not on them 🤷‍♀️

Oh! Also , thirst is the very first single of dehydration , so drink water before you feel thirsty. And even though ice cold water is more refreshing, it’s important to drink tepid or room temperature if you’re already experiencing feeling overheated . The reason for this is because the body is using extra energy to warm up the the ice water to body temperature, which is keeping it from being able to have enough energy to regulate body temperature, and other vital functions.

Combine that with acne medication like Acutane and you got yourself an indoor summer.

I had no idea, thank you! I work in construction and take sertraline/zoloft, so I naturally drink nearly two gallons of water every day. Good to know that I actually need it.

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, it’s a form of autonomic nervous system dysfunction that can cause fainting and/or a ton of other symptoms (vision loss, nausea, fatigue, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, anxiety, and more) upon standing or in some severe cases sitting. It can be exacerbated by exercise, heat, eating, and other triggers depending on the person including some medications. It’s increasingly common as it can be caused by viruses, especially Covid.

So , by drinking water radically colder than your body temperature to hydrate , you are already operating at a deficit. Life Science

Water bottle with stickers . I have a “ travel bottle “ for the day , and a “ home bottle “ when I’m home . Home bottle has a straw , so I go through it faster and have to refill it . Travel bottle has all my favorite stickers on it so I don’t forget it places .

I had the zombie feeling in highschool, on sertraline and straterra . At 18 , I was convinced the meds were making me feel “ muted” , so asked my psychiatrist to take me off , convinced I was just anxious and outgrew ADHD. Turns out, I just had the wrong combination. Wish I hadn’t white knuckled for the better part of 10 years , but oh well. Now I know 🤷‍♀️

I also struggle with appetite suppressants part of both Prozac and atomoxitine. So , constantly packing snacks in my bag and setting an alarm to eat every 2 hours . 🍃Also helps with the appetite part . 😉

Do they still require pregnancy tests to refill rx for acutane? I remember being 15 and needing to pee in a cup every time I went to the dermatologist for a refill of that stuff. It’s potent!

I have no idea. I bet they do. But I’m a guy. And I get my Acutane from a doctor who doesn’t believe in all that. (She’s a little kooky.)

No. Like she casually dropped trauma about how her dad did an at home surgery on a patient. Here I’ll dm you a name, you can look at the photo and that should tell you a lot.

Yea thought I might need to be on something else but wasn’t hard on my body to stop taking it thankfully, that zombie mood just had me in a ‘it’s better to feel crazy and sad rather than nothing at all’ , hardest part was forcing myself to eat (would have a banana and acouple crackers for the whole day) and before starting them I already had eating issues, off of them I’m better, really think it was mostly just the bad friend group I was in sucking my energy, glad ur good too gardener friend 🍃
