When I was just a lil homunculus I never understood the phrase, “It takes more muscles to frown than to smile” because of this lol At this point I’m scared to try frowning. The idea of it feels so unnatural

Stick your lip out a bit and furrow your brow. A smile only moves your mouth. You don’t draw your eyebrows together during a smile. Those eyebrows are included in the muscles list.

You can also do neutral with just eyebrows and I think that would qualify too.

You draw down the corners of your mouth and/or you pout with furrowed brows
