I work at a bakery in a grocery store Im still not considered a full time employee even tho ive been working 40 hours a week for six months and my manager is off this week and the other people in my department are scheduled for overtime but not me even tho i was asked to stay late on Thursday and bake croissants so I did even tho I had a horrible day and wanted to die and my fiance is off on Thursdays and they didn’t even get packaged or put out so I literally did not need to stay and do that

Not only did I miss out on already short time with my fiance but now I have to cut hours today and I can’t get everything I usually get done done because I’m not allowed overtime when everyone else is getting it this week. And like no overtime and cutting hours is nothing new but everyone else is getting overtime this week and it’s not like I’m just fucking around and not getting my stuff done I was asked to stay

And I’m already depressed bc I have to get a second job bc 14/hr isn’t enough to pay my bills and also like get groceries and I can’t drive so I can’t just quit and go somewhere else

Scattered story telling aside- I hate to say, but at least from this instance it sounds like you blew your shot for overtime. anything outside of work doesn’t mean sht to ur boss. But also before this, have you ASKED them why?

Oh they said horrible day, I took this to mean not only did it suck but you underperformed
