I’ve really wanted to get back into running, I ran cross country in 7th grade and I was really good until I had to drop it cause the arch in my left foot would get insanely bad pains, never figured out what the problem was but I was never able to fully get myself back into it after that.
Aw, I’m sorry man, that sounds difficult, if you’d still like something active though swimming might keep the pressure off your foot. If it only hurts when running maybe you could still take walks. (If those activities are completely off the table cause of the pain though some things that could still get you out and about are photography, birdwatching and bug pinning)
It’s not something that I’ve felt for a while but I do worry that it will come back if I start running again. I’m also not really sure what I’ll do with winter coming, my work has a small gym that we can use for free but we aren’t allowed to use it when we’re shut down for Christmas and summer (we get like a week off around the Fourth of July) and I know that Christmas shut down will definitely throw me off and I’ll be stuck at square one again. I had a gym membership but it was too much money
It’s okay lol, I work nights so I don’t get a lot of opportunity to be outside during the day, I did participate in the company golf league this year which isn’t exactly my favorite option because of the whole environment thing and how bad golf courses are, but it was kind of fun being a menace to all the old men
that could be plantar fasciitis. it can be caused by a narrow toe box shoe cutting off the blood flow to the bottom of your foot. barefoot running shoes would likely solve that. also another hobby recommendation is hula hooping. i started it a few years ago and it’s really fun and satisfying and has improved my proprioception a lot. or any other flow toy. they’re not super expensive and you can learn for free online
