Finally decided to get diagnosed with ADHD and give meds a try but they’re not doing literally anything. Is that normal?

How long have you been on them and what meds? Stimulants usually start working pretty quick, but other meds can take up to 2 weeks. It’s also possible the med won’t work for you and you’ll have to try a different one or that meds just aren’t very helpful for you.

It’s possible that this isn’t the right medication for you. I had to try a few to get one that worked for me.

Yeah it’s normal. Just means you need to switch meds. Sometimes it’s the dosage, sometimes it’s the med. Talk to your doctor xx

Or just a higher dose of the same med. If it’s the first time you’ve taken a med they may have started you at the lowest possible dose, in which case it’s likely you’d need more to get an effect

I’m on 10mg of the standard Adderall ER and I’ve only been taking them for a few days but my doctor said they should start working right away so maybe I just need to go up?
