For those who can’t sit in a chair and pour out your soul, what type of therapy do you respond to? I’m about to give up therapy entirely and I know that it’s not an option for me but I also don’t know what type of therapy I need. I’m asked directly!

I’m butthurt bc I have to know exactly the type of therapy I’d respond to because that’s what I am always asked. I don’t know what I’m looking for I just want to feel like a real person and just can’t get through to my problems with CBT

i’ve tried CBT & while it’s nice to talk about my problems, i’m aware enough to know what the solution is I just have trouble figuring out how to implement it. I’ve been wanting to look into DBT but i’m also broke

DBT was very helpful for me, but it’s also similar to CBT in the sense of sitting there and talking. Art therapy has been helpful as well, and has improved my art skills.

Sorry to be a weirdo and reply instantly, but this is my legit case. I am an incredibly self-aware person and know that most of my issues are self-inflicted much like everyone else’s however, I feel like I need something more out of therapy besides the obvious answer being highlighted, which I already was aware of. I’m glad I’m not alone but so sorry you’re also suffering through this

i’m very self-aware too. when I *was* in therapy there were multiple times where I came to accurately conclusions about my problems before my therapist did.
