anyone else write letters differently in math? like f, x, y, i, etc. i feel like the different “font” helps me switch my brain into math mode

Yea I write my Y’s swoopy for writing but I do them straight for math

I drive my professors insane by using combined letters as variables alot, as opposed to an arbitrary letter or some greek letter

It’s like code switching but for writing. I haven’t done complex math since HS (and hope to die of old age before I am called upon to do so again) but I always did this too
