Has anyone heard of auditory processing disorder? I was scrolling through TikTok a few evenings ago and discovered that you can get hearing aids that redirect sound to help you manage excessive noise.
you can buy earplugs off of amazon (loops is a popular brand) that also help!! my friend has them and loves them

I don’t know if anyone’s tried out hearing aids for APD and how they have helped you

I want to be able to direct the sound more than actually just mute the sound

yeah, they’re a cheap alternative but it doesn’t completely block sound, just makes it quieter which helps in loud environments to hear who’s in front of you better, as my friend explained it bc i thought the same thing

I just think that I would want something that could like direct sound And I could filter out at the same time

oh yeah for sure!! hearing aids are just expensive affff sometimes and i don’t know if you can just get them, but that sounds SO nice. i have IEMs that i use when it’s loud and they don’t have noise cancelling but they make everything so quiet i can’t imagine proper hearing aids

When I think about it, I’m like if I can just put stuff in a specific direction or what not then maybe I can just feel like I’m actually hearing what I need to hear
