He texted me while he’s downstairs and I’m in my bedroom. He said he will try not to talk about it around me anymore but I told him that misses the point. It’s paradoxical because I use AI often not by choice but because it is the most convenient resource. It’s a vice. It also serves as an easy way to satisfy maladaptive daydreaming habits and other fantasies for neurodivergent people like me.
I believe there was a study done that shows that AI slowly kills your creativity depending on how long you use it for creative practices. I think it was really worrying info. Like the longer you use it you may not regain a certain level of creativity even if you stop using AI eventually
i saw a post about a study that was done comparing brain activity between someone that uses AI all the time & someone that doesn’t. where there should’ve been brain activity in the first person, there was none. however, the person that never used AI, there was activity all over their brain. yet people refuse to believe AI causes problems.
He takes a lot of pride in AI too. When he’s talking to others his age and his siblings it’s always about AI and how it did x for them. Why did he need to use chat gpt to do it instead of coming up with his own recipe as he’s always done with things or use the NYT recipes he used to like that were written by credible people?
Using it because you have to for work is whatever. Fuck the company for making you but they’re the reason you can pay the bills. What the boomers don’t understand is the robustness you talk about. It might give good advice in a given instance but it cannot guarantee good advice. Very frequently is shit.
I’m a writer (and wasn’t hired to film not that I would because it’s a beauty service place in another state) so I’m not videoing content I’ll do some minor editing but that’s it. No one else wants to be on camera so the actual footage content isn’t much. My mom asked ai what movie a senior would like ignoring that my grandpa hates movies. It told her that practical magic would be the thing for a 90 something conservative man and she was like “awesome!” I was like yeah let’s not—
A lot of fighting and manipulation on my part later and I talked her into the much shorter Coyote vs ACME. He still hated it because he has dementia and can’t follow a plot but at least it was shorter and he might’ve recognized some characters because they were created before he was born and he would’ve grown up with them. But at least it wasn’t 2 hours and 10 minutes of mother daughter issues.
