a lot of people assigned female at birth often get misdiagnosed w bipolar disorder before they’re diagnosed w adhd or autism!

Almost every time I’ve been hospitalized, I end up finding out they gave me a bpd diagnosis upon discharge. Which imo is a shitty thing to do to a patient. Now I have to fight to get that diagnosis taken off again bc my therapist thinks it might actually be autism and OCD. And my therapist who I’ve seen since 2019 knows me a lot more than psychiatrists who have known me for a week.

I also suffered a brain injury in high school, which is what triggered the onset of most of my symptoms. Which is also why my psychiatrist can’t officially diagnose me with some conditions (like adhd) or rule out bpd fully. So Im waiting on a neuropsych eval to sort out my diagnoses.
