( In the US: ) It’s different in the South. In the South, it’s common and part of the culture. In the North, it’s considered weird/strange bc the culture is different.

(Also in US) I disagree, I think it’s completely normal and okay. Do I necessarily enjoy it? Eh, depends. But I don’t think it’s a problem.

I’ve lived in the north and the south. The south appears more polite a lot of the time, but also there’s stuff that you might think is them being kind but if you know what it means, you know they’re basically calling you an idiot or something. In the north they’ll just straight up call you an idiot.

It’s just different. I like a mix of both. But in the North it’s odd to me that if you smile at someone they’ll look at you strange bc it’s not their culture. Or if you try to talk to them in the elevator, same thing
