i have no idea how relatable this is but when you get extremely anxious or stressed does the thought of food make you repulsed and unable to eat for days ?? or is that just me

I experience this/something similar! But for me I think it’s primarily because I have a number of bitch ass GI issues. Stress/Anxiety causes these to flare up. And it’s funny because some of my problems get better if I don’t eat, but it does make some of em worse.

Yeah!! If it helps to know, the one that fucks me up the most is my chronic gastritis. Basically, inflammation of the stomach lining. It can cause pain, nausea(and sometimes vomiting), indigestion, and feeling full/loss of appetite, among a few other things. I get my worst flareups from stress, and those can last for up to few days.

Thing about gastritis is, if you don’t eat, you will feel worse for longer because your empty stomach will become more irritated by the acid. But, sometimes, eating also makes me feel worse because I get nauseous after a couple bites. My solution to this has been ‘eating like a horse.’ (I work with horses and it is helpful for me personally to think about it like this. They inspired me haha!)

So when I’m starting to flare up, or if I anticipate I might because of stress, or if I just generally don’t feel great, I do my best to eat little bits of something as frequently as possible. This has been as extreme as like. Setting a timer for every hour to remind myself to go have three bites of a snack. But definitely doesn’t have to be as structured as that. It also helps me a lot when I am feeling specifically anxious about and averse to the idea of eating food, because I only have to
