there’s an app called Sign School that is pretty great! however, no everyone can sign so learning the words “deaf” and “Do you sign?” is CRUCIAL in service. if you fully enunciate like you’re in theater, they may be able to read lips if they don’t sign highly recommend learning the ASL alphabet to help with words you’re not going to get in-depth for signing too!

I highly recommend learning how to finger spell, I’m not going to speak for the deaf community but it definitely seems like the easiest way to communicate without learning the entirety of ASL or using external tools Also it’s essentially like memorizing a physical font, it’s a lot easier than it seems so don’t worry about difficulty too much and once you learn I’d even say it’s pretty fun to just finger spell random words you see as a fidgeting/improvement tactic :)
