In a situation like this, I would just ask my partner how they feel about it bc just bc your friend finds it cringe doesn’t mean your partner does. Me and my partner have done plenty of things that would probably be cringe to others, but it works for us so we don’t really care. I also think the context of the nickname cookie is too cute, so idk what the friend was on about 😭😭

talking from experience, please do not get into a friendship with somebody who tries to teach you how to be “normal”. they will drain you for all you’re worth and leave you with nothing

Just ask him how HE would feel about it. Forget that bitch. She’s irrelevant 🤷🏾‍♀️

You know how much shit I wouldn’t have done in my life if I listened to other people? Fuck their need to be part of the crowd and be exceptionally you.

I have stopped being friends with that person as of a couple years ago, i also didn’t get into the friendship in hopes of having someone NT be able to tell me what to do, we became friends when I was 9 and just stayed friends until I was around 16, then she moved away and realized life was easier when I didn’t have to think so hard about how I was socializing with people.

Exactly, PLEASE communicate. Your friend is not your partner, they do not dictate your relationship

second this! if anything like this comes up, asking your partner never hurts! any normal person will be completely fine talking about stuff like it:)

It was how 14 year old me handled having a partner with unmanaged depression, 21 year old me better at it (plus he goes to therapy and has medication) but it’s one of those things where if I could meet my past self, I would want to give them a hug and tell them good job because we kept him alive long enough to get him help and 14 year old me did that while hiding the entire relationship from everyone besides 4 people because ✨gay✨
