I’m unbelievably lonely. I don’t have a job. I’m not in school. I rarely leave the house. I rarely do anything. I’m not around anyone. I’m trying and failing to get a job. I’m debating going back to school but dad won’t let me. I feel hopeless

This might not be what you’re looking for, and maybe you don’t want advice at all, but maybe you could look for somewhere to volunteer while you’re trying to find a job? That way you’d at least be doing something on a regular schedule in the meantime

(I need a co-signer to take loans for college bc I don’t have credit but dad won’t do it and mom can’t bc she has my brother’s loans)

Look into Vocational Rehabilitation. They help people with disabilities find jobs. They can even help pay for college and Ubers. They do have a process that can take some time to work through, but it’s worth it in the end.

There’s a place I’ve volunteered at before that I loved, but I’d need to uber there and I don’t have an income so I really can’t afford to do that unfortunately

That’s a shame. What are the chances there’s another volunteer who you could carpool with?

Is there someone who’s able to take u on the weekends? Even just a couple hours a week!

I’m not really sure. It’s been a while and I don’t know anyone so I’d have to ask around. But also, I don’t want to get used to that schedule, then get a job and have to leave suddenly

also you should get into something art related! Physical or digital! You can share art and make online friends :)

You could ask whoever supervises the volunteers. And I totally get not wanting to have a constantly changing schedule, but maybe decide if the change or the loneliness is worse

Money, plus he doesn’t think it’s the best thing for me because I was stressed out before. But that was because my dog was dying and I was terrified she’d die while I was gone. I want to go back to school. I don’t have to worry about her because she’s gone. I miss her but she’s no longer hurting so it isn’t a big thing for me

i can’t offer any advice with the money stuff, but i would at least try to talk to your dad about it. if you really want to go back to school, and you really think you’ll do better this time, you deserve to be able to go

I tried to. I explained the dog thing and everything else. He just straight up refuses. He says to wait a year then we’ll talk about it again but I don’t want to. I just want to get it done. I want to be done sooner than later

What about part time online classes just so you’re still moving towards a goal but not really “going to school”. Never let school interfere with your education.

Never let school interfere with my education? What do you mean?

I mean there is an entire universe of educational content out there for free. If you want to learn something, learn it. It will make you more prepared for when you do go the official route.

if you're neurodivergent, you count as disabled by their standards

Neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, etc.) is a disability. So is depression, anxiety, etc.
