Have any other adhd/audhd people found they struggle to get invested in reading at any one time but once they’ve finally gotten invested, it’s incredibly hard to step away?

Good ol’ hyperfocus. I oscillate between reading eight books in a week and not touching literature for months. Annoying that the brain will literally ignore signals like hunger and whatnot in that state as well

I’m realizing now that the reason why I’ve had multiple instances in the past of literally reading the whole day and forgetting to eat lunch enough times that my mom was concerned I was developing an ed, but overall barely read at all, is maybe bc of this. Social media, movies, shows, video games, and even more productive hobbies like drawing or hiking are pretty immediately engaging generally. Reading on the other hand usually takes a good chunk of time to get me engaged, but once I’m there-
