In the kindest way possible, the diagnostic criteria requires you to have social difficulties in addition to rigid thinking. All of the things you mentioned fall under rigid thinking, which includes special interests, stimming, and sensory issues, and more. You may want to revisit the criteria to see if you meet the social difficulties part. I’m not saying you don’t, as you can definitely meet it in non-stereotypical ways. I just feel like this is important info for ppl suspecting in general

All your symptoms (and non-symptoms) sound so similar to mine! I’m diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety, but my main concern is just often feeling SO alien, even if others don’t often notice it. I’ve heard others talk about having similar concerns, not quite enough to meet the ASD requirements. I honestly speculate we could have a mental disorder that’s not yet recognized

extremely fair and true!! i guess i phrased my original post badly, i meant it as a “there’s more to autism that super obvious social difficulties” and that many autistic traits can be neutral/positive instead of all bad…but it was abt 2am when i posted that 💔 i do have some social difficulties, like trouble w eye contact, Def w interpreting nonverbal signals (i notice em, but what do they mean???), being unnecessarily literal at times, among other things, which also prompts my Suspicions Of ND
