Like when I’m at a table talking with someone and the waiter comes over, it feels like a new person is entering the conversation so they have to be addressed. Also because they’re a new person entering the conversation who’s a stranger, I can’t just keep talking about stuff I’d rather not talk with strangers about. Also I see so many scenes in movies where people have conversations in cabs that the driver can DEFINITELY hear that I know I wouldn’t want a stranger hearing

Working in the service industry really helped me with this, because I realized that when I’m a waiter I never mind other people’s conversations so I assume that other service workers are the same way when the roles are reversed
