I'm not entirely sure but I think it's that translators directly translate word for word, sacrificing whatever feeling or context might've been in the original language, while interpreters don't translate word for word but acurately communicate the ideas and emotions of the original language

Translators work with the written word and have more time and resources available while interpreters work with spoken and/or signed languages in real-time.
