What confuses me is that when I was growing up everyone was like “don’t talk to strangers on the internet” now when I ask people how to make friends they say “go talk to strangers on the internet”. Like WHAT?!? I was explicitly told NOT to

you were told that bc you were a naïve child and didn’t have a firm grasp on the concept of stranger danger. that’s the difference

I was literally afraid of everything and everyone as a child

kids in general just aren’t the smartest when it comes to technology and become a liability on the internet. my point is people expect you to have enough sense not to say anything that’d put you in danger now that you’re grown.

Oh no I understand that. That’s not what I have a problem about. My thing is I still DONT want to talk to strangers on the internet, well I’ll talk, but I don’t want to meet up with them and become friends. I just find it ironic how it was all stranger danger until I was the stranger? If that makes my post make more sense

Like I get why I was being told different things at different times.’I meant this sort of as a joke, but it doesn’t seem to read that way now that I’m looking at it

I think the misunderstanding is on both ends ngl I thought you were being serious. it’s hard telling tone through text 😭
