The only way you’ll ever change is by doing it yourself. If you rely on AI to communicate for you, then you will never be able to navigate a situation where you’re without it. It’s better to pay close attention to your words and think of all the ways it can be interpreted. The trial and error is hard but relying on AI is worse in the long term. But I don’t blame you for wanting out of this cycle, it’s very frustrating to be constantly misunderstood xx
You have good points about AI Don’t wanna deny that. But the therapy point is a little misguided. If you live in a country without universal healthcare, therapy is too expensive for lots of people. And not everyone has community support that is accessible to them because of factors that cut down on social ties. Especially compounded by your neurodivergence making it hard to build ties with people in the first place. People may feel like they have to use AI to cope because it’s their only option
Generative AI is poisoning marginalized groups across the country. If someone needs therapy, I get it, I do too, but I’m not willing to use a chatbot to make myself feel better at the expense of environmental degradation and human lives. If someone wants to know techniques they can use to improve their lives, they can look that up, if they want therapy, a chatbot cannot give you what a therapist can, and can actually give harmful advice
I used AI because someone misinterpreted a question I asked in a question and answer website. He accused me of being an American gun but. But that’s not the case. I do support gun control. But like most American gun control advocates the policies I support are still more moderate than what people in Canada would be comfortable with.
I panicked and I did not want to cause more offense; I was afraid of saying things the wrong way. So I sue AI to clarify my views. This website has a lot of problems with Americans, asking pointed questions that bash people in other countries. Which may be why he got the wrong idea about my intentions.
