Me too…I probably have both Autism Adhd but I’m not going to get tested bc I’d rather not be on a list of have the thousands of dollars it could take to get tested

I got tested and was turned away for having good grades. I was devastated at the time, but maybe it’s for the best.

I talked to my provider about reevaluating me and retracting my diagnosis. The way the records work, it’s too late if you’re already diagnosed. I’m terrified.

You know it’s funny when I show my mom stuff like this against autism (she supports me) but doesn’t listen. I’ll be like ā€œthey want to take away the department of educationā€ then she says ā€œit could be fake!ā€ Mom I’m literally reading the fucking White House website I don’t think it’s fake

I see so many people talking about not getting tested, how are you surviving without treatment and accommodations? I can’t just be undiagnosed

Yeah and some places with socialized healthcare won’t let you emigrate either if they determine your preexisting condition would be an undue strain on their health system so are we just boned, guys?

Yup. In the past I’ve been very grateful for my diagnosis. Now I’m terrified.

Because they’re treating autism and ADHD as illnesses; something to be expunged from society. Being a part of a community of people who are being portrayed by this administration as damaged or inferior is not a very good feeling.

Oh ok so the threat is the rapid rise in chronic health issues across all ages in the U.S, not me specifically 😭

Plus, the plan they set forth is likely going to involve violating patient confidentiality for people who have the diagnosis, so that they can ā€œunderstand the root causes of the condition.ā€ Understandably, people are taking that to also indicate that they are going to be put on a list. A list of inferior people.

If you have a few minutes, I’d recommend skimming through the actual executive order yourself https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/establishing-the-presidents-make-america-healthy-again-commission/

well they are technically illnesses and being able to cure them would be a dream come true imo. having this problems sucks since it makes it hard to live normally. to me though it reads like they want to solve the issue instead of killing everyone with them judging by the second to last sentence. however this current administration is run by people who are braindead so im probably just looking at it too positively

Every evil act has to be disguised with a good intention. Only time will tell if they twist their words into evil

ok yeah if they are violating confidentiality then that is awful. this should be done by people willingly

Hmm, well it seems like they’re not necessarily calling PEOPLE with these diagnoses as threats, but the fact that the numbers of those diagnosed has increased so much in the past 15 years. That IS alarming, I agree with that.. but yeah I guess we won’t see if they have evil intentions or not until it’s too late šŸ˜‡

a lot of it can be attributed to underdiagnosis due to the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. some of it is definitely abnormal though since autism symptoms are linked to gut microbiome issues and fungal infections

I see, like previously undiagnosed are now coming out of the woodworks as stigma changes, so it inflates numbers, which looks alarming? + some new asnormalities

yeah thats exactly it. things will start to level off but if environmental factors truly are the cause it will slowly increase over time but it will get nowhere close to the current levels

Also these numbers are used to blow up proportions. It’s 11% of kids have ADHD and from that number only about half are on stimulants

I love how one of the most important things on this list is ā€œthese kids won’t go die for a country that sees them as a medical and financial burden and nothing else :( we need more lives to throw at other nations to assert our dominance :(ā€œ. really shows how much they care

masking nearly 24/7. necessity is the mother of invention. if you have no support, you have to survive one way or another even if it damages other aspects of your life. basically, we’re not.

Yup. It def depends on support needs. I can’t survive or function without support and accommodation but some autistics can mask better
