My best friend is chronically 25+ minutes late to EVERYTHING. She has adhd so time management is hard which I get because I also struggle with it from my adhd, but I’m hyper aware of it because I try so hard to fight it so it really drives me up the wall.

And it’s especially frustrating because she doesn’t text and say “hey I’m sorry, I’m gonna need an extra 30 minutes” she just leaves me in waiting mode for 30-60 minutes while I’m ready and thinking she could be here any minute so I can’t move or do anything

I’m the opposite way I’m chronically early to everything because I’m worried I’ll be late but I also have a poor concept of time

Maybe try giving her a time 30 minutes before you’re supposed to meet? Like if you’re really meeting at 2pm, tell her 1:30pm

I’ve considered this often, but I don’t like being deceitful and I think she would be hurt if she realized :(

Honestly it’s either that or just leave her behind. If the movie starts at 2, you’re going into the theatre at 2. Whenever she gets there and how much she misses is up to her.

Like #1 said, a lot of us compensate for time blindness by getting places early. Some people such as yourself actively struggle and manage it. Some people set tons of alarms. All of those options is inconveniencing oneself to avoid inconveniencing others. A disability needs accommodations, it doesn’t mean you get to walk all over everyone. She’s not even being considerate enough to let you know she’s gonna be late
