Honest curiosity if you look at the bottom they’re all the same color, makes me wonder if there was sun damage and these were the best of 8 novels they collected.

I’d imagine a lot of people from back then were autistic as hell, it just didn’t really warrant notice since it was either useful or not important.

Also in true neurotypical fashion, I just realized the “joke” is not that the novels look different half way through and that pisses neurotypical people off, but that we have an 8 book encyclopedia of a seemingly random obscure topic 🤷‍♂️ 😬
