my best advice (for everything but hygiene items like towels) is to thrift stuff bc it’s already broken in, but also sometimes there’s the contamination ick that comes with secondhand so it’s hard

I unfortunately am not brave enough for secondhand shoes unless I can machine wash them. but 100% agree for everything else

Totally understandable! If you do ever try it, for sneakers I’d recommend throwing out the insoles and replacing them and soaking the rest of the shoe in hot water and dish soap as an initial clean off before you put them in your washer or detail clean them yourself (so it feels less 🤢)

I’m pain-free physically and do yoga and pay attention to my posture so I think I’m good. I’ve had these shoes for 8 years and work a standing job, that’s why they’re so busted.

these shoes are 8 years old and I get ~7000 steps most days. my gait is not the issue lol

yeah ik it’s bad😬 although I am broke , this isn’t even a money issue for me. I just have a really hard time with change
