Hey gang how does one go about getting an autism diagnosis? My therapist told me I should look into it but idk where to start

what would be the benefit of getting an autism diagnosis for you? have you weighed the pros and cons for you?

a psychiatrist should be able to diagnose you! idk a ton about autism diagnoses specifically so I'm not sure if there's specific testing centers like with adhd. but regardless any psychiatrist should be able to diagnose and you can always call their office first to make sure that's something they're comfortable doing

I have; and ironically that’s exactly what my therapist said 😅 I just like knowing for certain about myself, i hate uncertainties. I also tend to have anxiety that im faking things unless they’re confirmed by professionals so it would relieve that
