puzzle piece isnt a great symbol anymore. its associated with autism speaks which is pro eugenics

Just letting you know the puzzle piece symbol is used to support eugenics and the wiping out of all autistic people. It was made by Autism speaks and wow they are just awful

The rainbow infinity symbol is currently the most accepted by the autistic community. Also some other good things to note: April is Autism Acceptance Month, not awareness month, most people are aware, we don’t need awareness, we need acceptance. And we do not light it up blue (autism speaks) it is “red instead” :) congrats on your diagnosis tho!! It’s so nice to have the words to affirm your experiences!

I figured out I was autistic about a year ago & got my diagnosis two months ago. It’s insane how many of the things I’ve struggled with my whole life finally make sense now. I’m so happy you got answers too. <3 :)

Thanks everyone for letting me know about the puzzle piece! I wasn’t aware it was made by autism speaks and just remembered seeing it being used as a “representation” emblem so I didn’t know it was bad 🥲
