okay I got too embarrassed to say it earlier but since you brought up The 4chan Autistic I must confess that personally I was once right on the brink of becoming an Elliot Alderson kinnie (turned out I was just desperate for representation of angsty guys with daddy issues)

That’s interesting, sounds maybe like you relate to characters that generally might be struggling to function, but it gets expressed in a way that happens to be less sympathetic to people? Maybe there’s some frustration/anger in your life or more prone to in your personality

oh I mean I definitely don’t relate to Homelander personally and I ultimately think Elliot is kind of endearing despite him doing a lot of creepy twerp shit point is, I figured out that I wasn’t really identifying so much with his entire character as I was the “male manifestation of daddy issues” aspect lol. that realization freed me from having a potential identity crisis like OP might be dealing with
