quick fun fact asexual only refers to a lack of sexual attraction! while aromantic refers to not experiencing romantic attraction but yeah it's very common for neurodivergent people to struggle to differentiate these kinds of feelings

I’ve had friendship crushes aka squishes on people before I realized I was aroace, and I thought they were hot (maybe not in the same way you mean it, but idk). the house part is probs the biggest difference for me, but I know an aroace person who wants to live with a rlly close friend, so idk

I mean I don’t think I can come up with a definition that fits absolutely everyone cause romantic attraction is an emotion so it’s gonna look different for different people. I also might be explaining it badly, I just know i definitely feel differently about my gf than I do about my friends. I’m also not aroace, so I can’t determine whether we have the same got or different hots. Who knows, attraction is silly.

real. it’s very hard describing an emotion without using the emotion’s name, especially when it’s as complex as a type of attraction. part of why we can’t imagine a new emotion that an alien race might have, or what a color outside the visible spectrum would look like.

It’s basically being unsure if you experience romantic attraction, often because you can’t distinguish between platonic and romantic attraction but not necessarily. So if you sometimes are unsure which it is but know you experience romantic attraction, you probably wouldn’t use this label (which is what #6 is getting at) but if you don’t know if you ever have then that’s the term
