I was arguing with some Moms of Autistic children on social media just because I said that autistic children should be disciplined despite their diagnosis. Meaning that as a parent, you can’t just be like “oh yeah, I can’t teach him anything or try to discipline them because he’s autistic.” Mind you, the discussion we were having was under a video that showed an adult with autism bolting into a stranger’s home, standing in the middle of the middle of the living room.

His mom was closely following behind him, profusely apologizing and saying that he was autistic. The owner of the house stood on business and instructed at the adult with autism by pointing at the door and saying “get the fuck out of my house. You can’t be walking into strangers’ houses.”

The adult with autism seemed to understand and started walking out without protesting. But the Moms of Children With Autism were saying that the home owner was so mean and ignorant for talking to him like that 🙄. Like, bro. Had there been kids in that living room, he could have easily gotten his ass beat or been shot with no questions asked.

That’s honestly dangerous for everyone involved. Like that’s putting your kid (with autism) at risk. Not everyone would just yell at an intruder, and not everyone knows they are autistic. If I had an unknown adult man barge into my apartment my first thought is not “well he might be autistic”. My first thought would be “I’m in danger”. It just sets your child up for failure. What’s that kid gonna do when they outlive their parents and were never taught anything.
