i’m tired of the AI usage on this campus i came here to learn not see my professors’ tabs asking gemini or chatgpt what the lesson plan should be

i remember when chatgpt was still relatively new my environmental science professor made us use it to “write a letter” to our congressperson about issues we cared about the most & then fact check the “letter” it generated using actual sources.

That’s not inherently a bad thing. Professors have long since forgotten what it’s like to not know the basics of their field, and a lot of them aren’t experienced with teaching. You’re still getting their expertise, they’re just getting help with the teaching part

Mercy! it’s so frustrating going to school to learn something to turn my hyperfixation that I’ve had practically since birth, just to get fed computer slop! What’s worse is that the professor is totally accomplished in his work, WITHOUT the use of AI!!!

if you’re in a teaching position then you should know how to teach your knowledge to lesser educated people & if you don’t know how to, either find a different job or learn how to teach.
