i get u so much bc i feel like this whenever my bf cries about hamsters or my cockatiel (he’s never even met my bird but he loves her so so much through the pics and vids and calls)

its just a quirk of how muscles work, on smaller scales they are extremely efficient, if we were shrunk down to the size of an ant with no other changes we could also lift things much much larger than us
