why do people act so offended when I say I hate dogs… like it’s not that deep! It’s not like I’m advocating to tear down all the dog shelters. I just don’t wanna be near them 😖 god forbid a girl doesn’t want to have a little beast slobber on me

Fr!! I’m also scared of them which people are much more understanding of than if you say you just dont like them. But the way people act like not liking dogs makes you a monster is wild. There’s nothing wrong with disliking dogs if you aren’t hurting them because of it

I like dogs but I appreciate them more from a distance I don't like the residue left on my hands after petting them, I don't enjoy being licked, Im not good at playing with them, and I always feel guilty when I walk away from them

“Hate” is just so intense to me when it’s literally just a vulnerable/innocent being? Like it’s one thing to prefer one pet over another but idk. I’d never trust someone that is extremely against dogs. I get being afraid of them but to HATE them is so wild to me 😭

Dogs being innocent beings doesn’t mean I can’t hate them, though. I don’t find any aspects of them pleasing. That doesn’t mean I want to hurt them or that I feel them to be invaluable, it just means I do not like them and I don’t want them to be near me… I’m not afraid of them, and I can tolerate being around them and I can certainly be nice to them. Their behaviors and smells and looks are all just very unappealing to me.

I’m not “against dogs” either, I literally just do not like being around them. I don’t really see how that reflects negatively on my character. If anything, I’d like to see how someone interacts with an animal they hate because the way they treat it shows a lot about their morals and values
