Don’t get me wrong I don’t think that he should be their franchise guy or anything but being that their 22 year old first round draft pick qb had a season ending injury before the season even started in 2024, I don’t think it would’ve been crazy to keep darnold around in case he gets injured again. Even if he did stay healthy tho I think it would do him well to sit behind a solid vet for another year being that he’s so young.

I don’t disagree with letting him sit behind a vet but Darnold wanted too much money and wanted a long term deal both of which the Vikings didn’t want to give. It’s why Kirk left bc they didn’t want to give him a large contract that was long term.
