Yall are defending the bad bunny halftime show with your lives thinking we dont want him because we're racist. We dont want him because we're fed up with having horrible halftime shows, not because he's brown. Get over yourselves

Metallica not a crowd pleaser? Wtf are you talking about. Metallica is so much more widely known than bad bunny. Ive literally never met anyone in my life who listens to bad bunny.

Metallica also originated in san fran and are going into their 45th anniversary. Perfect oppurtinity for the league to bring them on the world's biggest stage but nah lets go with another hip hop r&b artist that no one fucking listens to and half the country has never even heard of

For a Super Bowl? That’s a lame choice. Really, metal doesn’t fit in the Super Bowl lineup, unless it was a hard rock kind of band. Shaman’s Harvest, would go hard though…

I think you’re kinda proving my point here man. “I’ve never met anyone in my life who listens to bad bunny” yeah it sounds like you live in a bubble. He’s the 2nd most streamed artist globally on Spotify rn

There hasn’t been a rock halftime show in 15 years and there hasn’t been a country one in 23. Just mix it up

And you're all proving my point. Defending this guy with your lives for know reason. I dont live in a personal bubble I litterally just told you ive never met anyone in my life who listens to the guy. Its just another desperate attempt from the league to gain younger viewers instead of appealing to the people who have been watching for years already

It’s mid in your opinion. He has hundreds of millions of fans. I don’t really even like his music but obviously they’re just trying to draw a large audience to watch the Super bowl. They’re not gonna have Creed play the Super bowl halftime no matter how awesome it would be

They dont need to draw audiences to the super bowl. Its the largest tv event every year and thats not changing any time soon. They need to change it up. Its been r&b or hip hop for more than a decade straight at this point and becoming exhausting

It’s called “garnering viewership.” None of the genres you mentioned have that level of popularity, appeal, and influence. You’re a tool complaining about this on the internet, when a normal person who’s ambivalent says “Huh, another pop artist, I might skip out then.”

It hasn’t though dude it’s been R&B/rap artists the past 4 or 5 years but before that it pretty rarely was. I don’t know what makes you think they ever went for the most “awesome” artist and not just what they thought would be most culturally relevant

Read MY previous remark, the superbowl is the most watched tv event regardless of who is the halftime performer. This is about diversity in genre. There are so many people tired of the same shit every year. We havent had a band perform, I dont believe, since Coldplay in 2015, which was 11 goddamn years ago. Almost every performance in those years has been weak

I dont think it really matters how currently popular the artist(s) playing at the superbowl is. Its still going to be the most watched event of the year regardless. Again I just think they dropped the ball with Metallica. If you're excited for bad bunny then you do you, but I think its just another attempt by the league to draw younger viewers, which really isn't necessary

Well at that point you’re just moving the goalposts so far so you can be right. Maroon 5 is not a hip hop/R&B band. I understand Metallica has a large fanbase but you’re being willfully ignorant to act like no one knows who Bad Bunny is

I did, you want divorced dad music, that isn’t popular and nobody gives a shit. Bunny’s an international artist, which helps that international viewership. Why do you think games are in Brazil, Ireland, France, and Germany? You’re mad about “genres” when in reality, if you were in charge of the bowl performance it would be the objectively worst because you wanted to put some shitass band out there. I’m really hope you aren’t an employer or a boss. You would make a shitty one.

Metallica is popular and you're the only one in this comment section just being genuinely hateful for no reason lmfao. Idk how many times I have to type this out before one of you actually reads it

Theres such a small number of those people that tune in JUST for the halftime show though. They should be concerned with generating a good show that people talk about after for being good instead of trying to appeal to younger audiences that dont watch football. The only time ive heard people talk about the halftime show after the game for the past few years is about how bad its been

There’s such a small number of people who care enough to even pay attention if it’s not someone they like. It’s a marketing tactic to attract fans who aren’t already watching football. Same reason they push all the Taylor swift shit so hard on social media. Again it’s not like any of this shit is my decision but I don’t see why how this is hard to understand

For an international market that the NFL has been CLAWING to get in since at least the 80s while American viewership sits in the 160 million range? Yes, Bunny is popular, Metallica hasn’t been relevant since at least the late 90s. Get pissy, I don’t care. Why the hell else are we doing international games, NFL has their sights on making itself as big as the premier and major soccer leagues, that’s their main rival for years. The viewership he’d bring in ALONE would make those numbers jump.

Bro if you care about the actual game so much you should know the halftime show is and always has been a marketing tactic to get an even broader audience to turn the Super bowl on and be invested in it. If it was about football and the football fans, they wouldn’t stop the biggest game of the year for thirty to forty minutes to have a 15 minute concert. I honestly think the whole thing is stupid to begin with but I’ll be the first to say I’m not the target audience and I don’t really care to be
