They won 14 games last year with a QB who wasn’t considered an NFL starter before O’Connell worked with him (he’s at best gonna look like Derek Carr in Seattle) and the roster got better compared to last year, and the QB is a lot more promising. If McCarthy is even a top 20 QB this team wins 11-12 games.
McCarthy seems like the exact type of qb that would thrive in a KOC system, and he’s been with the team sat while he was injured learning the playbook, building chemistry, we’ve seen what good sitting your first year can do for guys. Mahomes and Lamar both won mvp their sophomore years, Jalen hurts took a 4-11-1 team to the playoffs, Jordan love sat for like 3 years but he was able to bring the packers to the playoffs and bop the cowboys on the road, burrow’s second year he went to the damn sb
Yeah but 2023 had so many things go wrong, with both Kirk and JJ going down, as well as them just being crazy unlucky in close games that year. Just hard to project that kinda thing. I try not to factor in stuff like the Vikings being an every other year team, or the NFC East never repeating a winner, stuff like that.
