I agree to an extent, but sometimes good teams have worse depth at critical positions than objectively terrible teams. Just look at the recent Pats loss to the Browns. I’m no Pats fan (I was unfortunately born into a Jets family), but in the regular season, there’s no way that the Pats, with Brown, Doubs, Maye, and Gonzales, would lose a game to the Browns by 24 points. It just happens that the Patriots have shitty depth at CB and QB, and their excellent WR depth couldn’t make up for that.
