Has the NFL always scheduled Week 18 games with playoff implications that are contingent on a different game’s outcome at the same time as one another?

What games are you talking about? Only one i can think of would be the Panther/Bucs game and Falcons/Saints. But those are on different days.

But that’s actually the game I was thinking of. Usually with those, types of games, they play at the same time so that their outcomes don’t affect one another, right?

This year other games I can think of are the Texans and Jags games (if jags lose and Texans win, they overtake them for AFC 3 seed), Broncos and Patriots games (if broncos lose and pats win, they overtake them for AFC 1), and Eagles and Bears games (for NFC 2 seed)

Ohhh sorry i misinterpreted. I thought you meant for playoff spots. I think they do this to spread out the viewership. If they put an important game at 1, at 4 and at 8, people would only watch those games, and the viewership would be bad for the other games. Basically they are forcing viewership on the less important games at 1 by giving us more other choice 😂

I mean, that too. Like last year, (same teams lol) the Bucs (9-7) faced the Saints and the Falcons (8-8) faced the Panthers, with the Bucs making it if they won and the Falcons making it if they won and Bucs lost. Those games were played at the same time for fairness and watchability reasons
