Can someone who’s less empl*yed than me explain why left tackle is apparently SO much more important of a position and harder to play than right tackle is? The way people talk about it got me thinking the gap is as big as the gap between guard and tackle

Left tackle protects qbs blindside. Right tackle is more important for left handed qbs like Tua

Because most QBs are right handed, so when they are back to pass, they can’t see behind them. This is called the blind side, and the left tackle protects their blind side. For left handed QBs, which currently they are only two (Michael Penix and Tua) the blind side blocker would be the right tackle

Okay so it’s not actually anything to do with the rusher or lineman it’s that the qb can’t see down there usually. I figured it would be some shit like that lmao
